Golf Sud: Territorial Coaching
Territorial coaching is an intervention process to identify, support and enhance human potential organized to stimulate a dynamic of change for the development of the territory and boost its performance. Its ultimate goal is to produce behavioral changes likely to accelerate ownership (Owenership) and empowerment (Empowerment) of local actors vis-à-vis the definition and implementation of their development projects. It is based on tools such as the territorial sociogram which is the mapping of the dynamics of the actors in relation to a theme and a synergy workshop to organize a structured dialogue in order to fix the logical framework and the rules of the game to define a protocol of agreement leading to a concerted action plan.
Its objectives: to promote the social and solidarity economy, to develop fair trade, participatory, inclusive and civic management, to promote solidarity finance and to encourage the creation of endogenous economic activities through cooperatives, companies and mutuals as well than partnership. The first results of this experiment were presented by REMESS at the AFRICITES meeting organized by United Cities and Local Governments of Africa (UCLGA) in Dakar, Senegal from December 4 to 8, 2012. More than 80 participants learned about the Moroccan experience and some mayors have shown interest in this approach. This is the case of the Mayor of Golf who experienced it as soon as she became head of the municipality in February 2022, as a method of citizen, participatory and inclusive governance for sustainable development.
