Itanhaém: Collaborative management to improve public services in the Guapurá neighbourhood housing complex
The practice Collaborative Management to improve public services in the Guapurá neighbourhood housing complex: impact on the goals of the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) is an excellent example of how cooperation between different municipal areas can generate positive impacts on the goals of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially in the context of the Minha Casa Minha Vida programme.
The creation of the Public Authority Institutional Group (GIPP), which involved several municipal departments, demonstrated an integrated and multidisciplinary approach to tackling the challenges related to housing and the well-being of beneficiaries. This initiative was led by the Department of Administration, Education, Culture and Sports and Housing, together with other relevant departments such as Traffic and Public Safety, Health and Labour Relations.
The choice of research-action as a methodology shows a commitment to the active participation of municipal managers in identifying and implementing improvements. This approach not only allowed for the precise analysis of the housing complex's situation, but also strengthened community involvement, creating a closer bond between government and citizens.
The results achieved, reflected in tangible improvements in residents' quality of life, are indicative of the effectiveness of this collaborative management practice. In addition, the positive impact on the SDG targets shows how this approach can contribute to local sustainable development.
This initiative not only promotes concrete changes, but also strengthens local governance and reinforces the commitment to citizen participation. It is a model to be highlighted and replicated in other communities, highlighting the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration and the involvement of the population in building a more sustainable and inclusive future.
