Guayas Province: Reforesta Guayas
Reforesta Guayas is an initiative aimed at reversing the effects of deforestation and improving the quality of life of the population through the planting of native trees. With a participatory and inclusive approach, the program has successfully planted over 235,500 trees in the province since 2023, involving communities, farmers, private companies, and local governments in the process. Its strategy combines urban greening, productive systems, and ecosystem restoration to ensure a positive and sustainable environmental impact. In addition, the installation of forest nurseries in strategic points across the province will help achieve the goal of planting 506,000 native trees by 2027. The Guayas Prefecture reaffirms its commitment to environmental protection and ecological transition through this transformative and participatory project.
