Bursa Metropolitan Municipality: drip irrigation pipe production
The efficient use of water and other resources is critical in the global era due to climate change. Pollution of water resources and misuse of chemicals have a negative impact on water and soil. As a solution to this problem, modern agricultural techniques are important. One of the problems faced by farmers in Turkey is the continuous increase in input costs such as seeds, fertilizers and pesticides. Municipalities provide grants for some material items to reduce costs. However, support may be limited as the supply of materials is costly. Within the scope of the project, drip irrigation pipe support is planned with grants to direct farmers to modern irrigation methods. In order to reduce the cost of the support, the drip irrigation pipe to be supported will be made in our facility within the scope of the same project. The production facility was commissioned by Tarım Peyzaj A.Ş., a subsidiary of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, in the idle Ovaazatlı Product Processing Facility. The production facility is built on an area of 8,500 m², with pipe production on 1,000 m² and distribution operations on 500 m². Two types of pipes, flat and round, are planned to be produced at the facility. The annual production capacity of the facility is determined as 7,600 km for flat pipes and 28,500 km for round pipes. The use of 100% recycled plastic waste collected in Bursa in the production of drip irrigation pipes is an important example of the efficient use of waste. In addition, it is important for farmers to recycle their worn pipes in order to contribute to the environment.
