Salta: Entrepreneurs School – “Municipal Factory”

Avatar: Official proposal Official proposal

The Entrepreneurs School of the Municipality of Salta consisted of the creation of a comprehensive public policy aimed at strengthening vocational training, promoting entrepreneurship, and generating concrete opportunities for economic development for the residents of the city. The initiative was launched in 2023 in response to the lack of sustained job-training programs and in a context marked by unemployment, informality, and the difficulties many sectors of the population face in accessing formal employment.

The program is particularly aimed at groups that historically face greater barriers to accessing employment, such as women heads of household, young people without work experience, older adults seeking professional reconversion, persons with disabilities, beneficiaries of social programs, and entrepreneurs wishing to strengthen or professionalize their projects. Through courses, workshops, and support spaces, participants receive practical tools that allow them to acquire productive skills and develop their own economic initiatives.

One of the most innovative aspects of the initiative is that it goes beyond training alone. Participants are also able to use municipal facilities and equipment to produce their own goods or services. In addition, the municipality organizes fairs and productive events where entrepreneurs can sell their products, generating income, building networks, and increasing the visibility of their ventures. In this way, a complete cycle that integrates training, production, and commercialization is created.

Since its creation, more than 4,500 people have participated in the different training activities. In 2025, the four-month training courses reached more than 1,000 participants, with a completion rate exceeding 80%. Furthermore, the Municipal Factory, inaugurated in January 2025, records an average of 100 users per day who use its facilities to develop their productive projects.

The initiative is sustained through coordination between different municipal departments and collaboration with educational institutions, social organizations, and local stakeholders. This participatory approach makes it possible to adapt the programs to the real needs of the community and strengthen the relationship between the municipality and citizens, consolidating a public policy that promotes employment and inclusion.
