Quality index of participatory democracy
Participatory process to create a quality index of participatory democracy. At the IOPD General Assembly in December 2021, it was proposed that the IOPD lead the creation of a Participatory Democracy Quality Index (IDP).
The objective of this index is to be able to measure the implementation of participatory democracy at the local and regional level, and to see its evolution over time. The IDP will collect lessons learned and provide an action-oriented methodology to improve the quality of participatory democracy by calculating an index and publishing an annual report on the state of participatory democracy.
To this end, the IOPD has created a working group in which it invites IOPD members, experts and worldwide organizations, to collaborate in the elaboration of this tool. In this working group we will ask you to participate in meetings and commissions.
