N'Djaména: Setting up territorial observatories
The territorial observatories have been set up thanks to the implementation of the National Support Programme for Local Authorities in Chad (Programme National d'Appui aux Communes du Tchad - PNACT). The PNACT is an initiative of FERAM Chad and the Association Nationale des Communes du Tchad. The aim is to provide skills dedicated to the collection and processing of data to inform the decisions of local authorities, and to inform people about the life of the local authority. The ultimate aim is to adapt public policies at local level to the needs of the local population.
The observatories operate with the support of the International Organisation of the Francophonie (OIF) and provide regular reports on the commune and its management, so that everyone is informed in real time of the current dynamics.
FERAM Tchad, the Association Nationale des Communes du Tchad and the OIF will be part of a steering committee and will be used to guide the operation according to the needs of the population.
Thanks to the evaluation report, the steering committee will be able to direct the operation according to the information needs of the population.
