We want to agree on a definition of participatory democracy that allows us to clarify what we want to measure.

Participatory democracy is a form of democracy in which citizens have greater participation in making political decisions.

¿Qué es democracia participativa?
La democracia participativa según Dahl (1991), citado por Gonzalez (2009), debe permitir al ciudadano ejercer control sobre las decisiones gubernamentales depositados sobre los funcionarios elegidos, elecciones periódicas y transparentes, amplías garantías para elegir y ser elegido, libertad de expresión sobre cuestiones políticas, acceso a la información y derecho a organizarse formal, o informalmente.
