2025 Award "Best Practice in Citizen Participation"
19th Edition
Yashnabad District: Participatory budget
Our project is a vital initiative aimed at expanding educational opportunities for visually impaired and low-vision individuals. Within the framework of this project, the acquisition of specialized equipment enables the production of books in Braille. This breakthrough will provide individuals with disabilities access to new textbooks, literary works, and various types of information, significantly addressing their educational needs. As a result, visually impaired individuals will have equal opportunities to enhance their knowledge and fully integrate into society.
The primary goal of implementing this project is to ensure the practical realization of the right to education for visually impaired and low-vision individuals. By producing books in Braille, we aim to remove all barriers to accessing knowledge. This initiative is not only about distributing information but also about fostering equality in society and creating conditions for the intellectual, cultural, and social development of individuals with disabilities.
Additionally, this project seeks to empower visually impaired individuals to achieve personal growth and actively participate in society. The opportunities created within the framework of this initiative will help people with disabilities not only gain education but also showcase their abilities and contribute to the community. Therefore, this endeavor represents a significant step toward improving the future of individuals with disabilities and highlights its considerable social importance.
